Kutatók Éjszakája 2018

Researcher's Night (Kutatók Éjszakája) 2018 will be held on 28th of September from 4 pm to midnight in our Campus (1081 Budapest, Népszínház street 8.)

The Researcher's Night was initiated by the European Comission in 2005 and was organized every year since then. 
European Researchers’ Night is an open science event that makes science and the work of scientists familiar to audiences all over Europe. Over the course of the day and throughout the night, children, adolescents, adults, older people, students and entrepreneurs can get to know more about science through workshops, meetings with researchers, lectures and laboratory visits. The next European Researchers’ Night will be held in around 300 cities simultaneously across Europe on September 28th, 2018.
In Óbuda University Donát Bánki Faculty our students and teachers doing these events and courses, so everyone can check the open workshops and attend these interesting experiments as well as to learn about our courses and how the Faculty works during the semester. Besides our collegaues and students there will be external presenters.

First of all, you need to register and the entry where you will recieve an armband. With that you can freely go in and out the whole time, also you will get a drink coupon for our buffet where you can redeem that to a drink (refresher or beer). The buffet is in the 2nd floor 252 classroom. Entry is free!

Altough most of the programs will be in hungarian language, still there are some which is understandable for foreigner students.

You can see lots of experiments when you attend the following programs:
- Interactive Robot Programming in 113 classroom on the 1st floor at 5 pm, 6 pm, 8 pm or 10 pm.
- Bridge-building workshop in P10 classroom in the basement from 4 pm to 8 pm. First you can build your own mini-bridge, after that you can see a real pasta bridge crashing from 7 pm.
- You can make your Donát Bánki medallion next to the entry during the whole time.
- You can check how a CNC machine is operating in the Nagyműhely ('Great Workroom") from 4 pm to 9 pm.
- Also you can watch cutting with fire and plasma at the basement's P33 classroom from 5 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm.

There will be exhibitions like "Bánkis életképek" (Photos from the life of Bánki) in the 252 classroom on the 2nd floor during the whole time or the drawings from the children of Faculty's workers on the wall between the 1st and the 2nd floor.

You can check the world's 70 most famous buildings in 3D puzzle built by Kristóf Hegedűs in the 111 classroom on the 1st floor. If you would like to play you can guess these buildings in a quiz game in every hour!

From 4 pm to 8 pm you can see a moving piano drive by Mr. Piano! The piano was built in 1884, only 3 of them are in the world. Mr Piano modified the instrument by himself into a moving thing, he can control it with buttons and it can go with 8 km/h speed.

Out in the courtyard there will be sportcars, some of them are muscle cars, some of them are more exotic ones from 6 cylinders to 10. Also you can check alternative operated cars built by Bánki's students. There will be a flying drone you can check.
