Óbuda University is a dynamic and thriving institution located in Central Europe. For 133 years of existence, the educational excellence has remained paramount. Student of Bánki Faculty Szilárd Attila Márkos won this year's Pasta Bridge Building Championship by a world record.

His bridge collapsed under a load of 578.2 kg.

In the "Bridge" category, students of Bánki FacultyBalázs Botka and Sándor Kurucz came third, with their bridge bearing a load of 333.7 kg.

Let me greet the visitors of our homepage as Dean of Óbuda University, Donát Bánki Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering, a brandnew university faculty still with remarkable traditions.

Our University was established as legal successor of Budapest Tech as of 1 January this year; however, "Bánki" can take pride in a history of more than 130 years. Our first legal predecessor, the Public Secondary Industrial School of Budapest was established in 1879, and after several reorganisations ending up as Donát Bánki Technical College of Machine Industry, engineering specialists welcome in the economy have been trained here since 1969.

We are obliged by both the recently conferred university rank and the recognised past of industrial education and technical higher education. We are committed to meet 21th-century challenges in terms of training and education as well as research and development by greatly emphasizing universal values based on our traditions.

Our educational offer includes much demanded bachelor's, master's, and continuous development courses recognised by the industry. I hope to arouse the interest of both secondary school students just before choosing a career and graduates intending to deepen and broaden their knowledge.
