Let me greet the visitors of our homepage as the Dean of Óbuda University, Donát Bánki Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering, a young University Faculty with remarkable traditions.
Our University was established as legal successor of Budapest Tech as of January 1st in 2010, however, “Bánki” can take pride in a history of more than 130 years. Our first legal predecessor, the Public Secondary Industrial School of Budapest was established in 1879, and after several reorganisations ending up as Donát Bánki Technical College of Machine Industry, engineering specialists welcome in the economy have been trained here since 1969. The achieved university rank and the recognized history of industrial education and then technical higher education oblige us. We feel it is our duty to ensure that our educational work and research and development activities meet the requirements of the 21st century – building on our traditions, we place great emphasis on universal values.
We have a Faculty with family atmosphere, which values students, not only offers teaching and learning opportunities, but also welcomes all those who, outside of teaching time, are looking for “creative” opportunities in addition to their studies in free-use laboratories and workshops, from building a car to building a pasta bridge.
Unique opportunities are available in our training offer. We offer bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral training, which are recognized in the industry, and we have various special trainings provide the opportunity for further education.
The Faculty Student Self-Government offers countless programs so that all our students really feel like family members in our building at Népszínház utca.
It is well known that the path to the diploma at Bánkin is not easy. We consistently insist that behind the issued diploma there is knowledge, the acquisition of which is only possible at the cost of hard work. This path is difficult, but it also offers beautiful and meaningful student years.
All the latest news appears on our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter), and we do everything we can to ensure that the latest information reaches our listeners as soon as possible. If you are now reading my greeting as an interested person, please visit our programs from Researchers’ Night to Open Days, watch our student competitions, and as a visitor, support Bánki’s teams!
I hope we have piqued your interest, we look forward to seeing you at Bánki!
